Recently, Holloman has devoted her time to her other passion, painting.
Working with LGBTQ non-profit Prism Comics since 2012, Avery has also organized and spoken on panels devoted to bisexual, transgender, and queer women’s media representation at conventions from San Diego to New York. GIRLSCHOOL is a 100% women-led music festival and collective whose mission is to celebrate and connect women artists, leaders, and voices. Here she graduates from mobile 8-track experimentation to an actual studio, enlisting a few friends to help even as she maintains the strikingly visceral elements of her powerful debut, The Grime & the Glow (2010).
