Dating a farmer

2) He’s got a great physique When your daily routine consists of outdoor activities like rounding up sheep, checking crops and riding horses, you enjoy the benefit of being naturally fit, toned and tanned. Any guy with these values will be proud to treat you with kindness and respect.

From being able to translate the sun’s position to the time, to knowing the moon cycles and weather patterns, your farmer is as close to being ‘at one with the land’ as they come.

6) Appreciates the company of a lady In saying all this, a farmer’s life can get pretty lonely so he truly appreciates the company of a woman. 7) Compassionate For an abundant crop or healthy livestock, one really learns that your grass is greener where you water it, and understands the great affect of care and compassion.

The problem with this advice was that my dater’s luck in the city hadn’t been so great either. It is simply because farmers just do not have much time. I take these little moments, these moments of spending time together & chalk them up to a date. I decided to create a list for those that might be having the same struggles as I have (and sometimes still do). After all, isn’t a date just to spend time with someone you care about? I was looking for the pastoral version of a romantic cheat-sheet, a farmer’s guide to successful matches. For six months, I called long distance and drove back roads to talk to farmers and ranchers about dating and marriage.
