In the next paragraph some of the varied Dimension 2400 drivers and hardware configurations are shown. The network hardware uses the driver for the Realtek RTL 8139 8139C 8139C hardware.Lots of them around...check out Craig's list for your locale.Another idea is to try Puppy Linux..and will allow surfing the web, playing videos, email, etc. For more info and help with Linux distros....check out BC's Linux Forum.
There is a way how to do this: I used some patches in Windows 7, then I use the command prompt, and I reboot the computer and see Windows 8 is showing up, and I tested out the performance and it is good enough because I used a dedicated video card to run the system.
Then updated the drivers but the only one that worked was the Intel universal host controller 24. I had soundmax audio on it before and could hear others in voice chat but had no mic or webcam.
I attached a webcam, downloaded the drivers for it and got it working but have no sound at all.
Xubuntu desktop works, but also only with 16-bit colors.
I've tried the Intel graphics installer wizard, which makes no difference.
